A Stronger, Better Credit Union Awaits…
The First United Membership Has Approved The Merger!
On May 23, 2023, the First United membership approved their merger with us. We’re thrilled about this opportunity, offering a match of cultural values and enhanced service and talents. As one unified credit union, we’ll be able to serve you in new and exciting ways and leverage our abilities to the fullest, which will benefit everyone.
Remember, we are — and will continue to be — a strong and financially safe credit union.
We remain a state-chartered credit union, with membership open to the entire State of Michigan! Your funds remain federally insured by the NCUA. You can rest easy; your money is safe and secure.
We’re moving forward!
As we join forces, Grandville will join our branch locations and will become “NCACU, a division of North Central Area Credit Union.” Eventually, all branches will move to NCACU in name and brand as we unite into one strong entity, resulting in a $230 million organization serving more than 20,000 members.
You will start to see our new logo:
Our brand transition to NCACU will occur in varying stages, depending on location. Please be patient as we make this shift. We expect the full transition to take 2-3 years.
Social Media will be an important tool for us during these transitions so please make sure you follow the NCACU Facebook page. We will post important updates there as changes are made. Changes are not always fun, but with growth comes change.
With the merger approval, our bylaws have been formally be updated. As we combine the two organizations, some fees or balance requirements may adjust for consistency, and certain products may merge. We recently mailed a packet outlining these changes, including a new fee schedule and membership disclosure.
We will work diligently during this transition to ensure minimal challenges to our members.
We’re excited about this collaboration of efforts, talents, and systems. Under the NCACU name, our unique service culture will continue, and Mark Richter will remain our CEO.
Our commitment to the community will not waver, and our caring and compassionate service will continue.
This merger will be a win-win for all!
