Introducing Interactive Teller ITMs- A New Drive-Thru Experience Coming to North Central

North Central is excited to launch a more convenient, personalized, and innovative banking experience with the rollout of Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) to replace our current ATMs—starting Fall 2025, at our Houghton Lake and Grayling branches.

This new technology reflects our commitment to continuously improve the innovative member experience through smart, service-focused innovation.

What Is An ITM?

An Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) looks a lot like an ATM, but it does much more. With an ITM, you can do your everyday banking—like deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers—just like you would at the teller window. Either self-service or teller assistance!

But here’s the difference: an ITM connects you to a real North Central team member through a live video screen, if you need assistance during office hours. It’s a lot like using Zoom or a video call. You’ll see a friendly face, have a real conversation, and get the same personal service you’d expect inside the branch.

We’ve made ITMs feel comfortable and welcoming—because even though it’s digital, you still have the ability to talk with someone who knows you and cares. That’s the North Central difference.

Truck-Friendly Lanes Included 

We’re also taking accessibility seriously: Each branch with ITMs will include at least one lane specifically designed to accommodate taller trucks and taller vehicles.

We’re making sure every member can comfortably access our modern drive-thru solutions—regardless of vehicle height.

ITM Accessibility

There are three distinct ways for members and non-members to use ITMs at our branches.

  1. Self-Service
    • No staff interaction required
    • Offers access to additional account features beyond a traditional ATM
    • Can do mostly the same functions as in the lobby at the teller line
    • Ideal for routine transactions with added functionality
    • Sub-accounts on member profiles can be viewed
    • Available 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  2. Teller Assist
    • Connects users to a North Central team member via secure video
    • Offers a guided, personalized experience for those who prefer interaction
    • Available 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  3. 24/7 ATM Transactions
    • Traditional ATM use for both members and non-members
    • Available at all times for quick cash withdrawals, balance inquiries, and deposits


Loan & Account Services via ITMs

  • Members can make loan payments, deposit checks, and transfer funds.
  • Members cannot apply for a new loan or advance a HELOC at the machine.
  • Sub-accounts on member profiles can be viewed for better transparency.

What Will Change?

  • ATM Replacement: Existing ATMs will be replaced.
  • Drive-Thru Modernization: Tubes, drawers and windows will be removed in drive thrus at Houghton Lake and Grayling to make way for ITMs.
  • Coin Services & Large Transactions: These will continue to be supported inside the branch.
  • Truck-Friendly Lanes: One designated lane will be updated to accommodate taller vehicles when ITMs are installed.

Member Support

  • The goal is to encourage member independent use. We have our trusted guides outside occasionally during implementation to support members as needed for the beginning transition period from ATMs to ITMs.

  • Have your Debit card ready! (If no Debit card, ID can be used for verification)
  • Just using the ATM for cash or a deposit? Insert your debit card and go
  • Want to speak with someone during service hours? Tap the screen to connect instantly
